Ingredible is operated by EmeraldApps. This Privacy Policy explains how Ingredible collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Ingredible iOS app and website.

Overview

Ingredible helps you scan packaged food labels and check whether a product matches your selected food rules. The app is not a medical device and does not replace label review or professional advice, especially for severe allergies.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Information We Collect

Ingredible may collect the following information:

• Account identifiers, such as an anonymous Firebase user ID or Sign in with Apple identifier.
• Profile data you enter in the app, such as profile names, selected food rules, allergens, ingredients to avoid, diet preferences, and nutrition goals.
• Scan content, including product photos, extracted label text, ingredients, allergens, nutrition facts, product names, verdicts, and saved products.
• Purchase status and subscription entitlement information from Apple In-App Purchase.
• Usage events, such as onboarding completion, scan started, scan completed, paywall viewed, and feature interactions.
• Diagnostics, crash reports, and performance data.
• Contact information only when you choose to contact us by email or provide it through Sign in with Apple.

Ingredible does not collect precise location, financial card details, HealthKit data, or advertising tracking data.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Analyze food label photos and return a profile-specific result.
• Save scan history, saved products, and profiles.
• Sync account data when supported.
• Provide subscriptions and restore purchases.
• Improve app reliability, understand aggregate feature usage, and troubleshoot crashes.
• Respond to support, privacy, and account deletion requests.

Photos And Food Label Analysis

When you scan a product, Ingredible processes the photos you provide so the app can read the front package, ingredients, allergens, and Nutrition Facts. Photos and extracted label content may be sent to Firebase AI Logic and Google Gemini for analysis.

Ingredible may store compressed thumbnails and scan results so you can view history and saved products. You can delete scan history, saved products, and account data from the app where those controls are available, or by contacting us.

Sharing And Third-Party Services

We share information only with service providers needed to operate the app:

• Firebase Authentication by Google: account sign-in and anonymous user identifiers.
• Cloud Firestore by Google: profiles, scan results, and saved product data.
• Firebase Storage by Google: scan image thumbnails used for history and saved products.
• Firebase AI Logic and Google Gemini: food label photo analysis and structured scan results.
• Firebase Analytics by Google: app usage measurement.
• Firebase Crashlytics by Google: crash reporting and diagnostics.
• Apple StoreKit and App Store: subscriptions, purchase processing, and purchase restoration.

These providers process information according to their own privacy terms. We do not allow these services to use Ingredible data for third-party advertising tracking.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed through Apple In-App Purchase. EmeraldApps does not receive your full credit card number or payment card details from Apple.

Data Retention

We retain account, profile, scan history, saved product, and subscription-related records for as long as needed to provide the app or until you delete the data or request deletion, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Diagnostics and analytics data may be retained by our service providers according to their standard retention practices.

Security

We use Apple platform security features and encrypted transport such as HTTPS/TLS when information is sent over the network. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we use reasonable safeguards designed to protect the information handled by the app.

Your Choices And Rights

You can:

• Edit or delete profiles in the app.
• Delete scan history and saved products where those controls are available.
• Sign out or delete your account where account controls are available.
• Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy help.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under local law.

Children

Ingredible is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

App Tracking Transparency

Ingredible does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies as defined by Apple App Tracking Transparency.

Push Notifications

Ingredible does not use push notifications unless a future app version asks for your permission first.

International Transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. When this happens, information may be subject to the laws of those countries.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. If the changes are significant, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice in the app or on this website.
